Hello! I’m Elizabeth Kuruvila, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a keen interest in journalism. Originally from India, I’ve recently moved to Fort St. James, British Columbia, where I work for the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). This unique combination of academic and professional experiences allows me to explore a variety of perspectives in my writing.

In my studies, journalism serves as my Humanities elective alongside English. I enjoy delving into topics such as community well-being, environmental issues, and human rights, aiming to bring attention to stories that impact both individuals and society. My background in psychology often informs my approach, helping me understand the underlying factors that shape human experiences.

Since moving to Fort St. James, I’ve been inspired by the town’s natural beauty and close-knit community, often accompanied by my 3-year-old Lhasa Apso. These everyday experiences influence my writing and provide me with a deeper connection to the topics I explore.

As I continue to develop my skills in journalism, I’m excited to see how my understanding of psychology and social issues can contribute to thoughtful and meaningful storytelling.
